Art of Fresh Release New Video “Where I Go”

March 8, 2013

Art of Fresh – Where I Go

D.O. and Slakah the Beatchild are back with that buttafat boom-bap.  “Where I Go” is the new single from the forthcoming release “Good Morning Yesterday” (Sept 2013).

Art of Fresh is a hip-hop duo with soul that is made up of Guinness World Record holder D.O. (Defy the Odds) and JUNO Award winning producer Slakah the Beatchild.  In 2013, the group is set to release “Where I Go”, the first single from their upcoming third album “Good Morning Yesterday” currently set for release in September 2013.

The Toronto, Canada based duo has had a track record of worldwide success with their releases.  The groups’ debut album, Back to the Earth (Northstarr / Nova Music Group / Universal), released in 2008, earned a four star review in Eye Weekly and also reached #2 on Canadian college radio charts.  The album also helped Art of Fresh land a spot in the URB’s Next 1000 list and a performance on Canada’s MTV Live.  The duo toured nationally, first opening for Sweatshop Union and then headlining two tours.  Then the group headed on an Asian tour with stops in Japan and Taiwan.  They landed in national newspapers The China Post and The Taipei Times and played to packed shows.

Art of Fresh has performed at Winter Music Conference in Miami, CMJ in New York City and rocked a College University tour stateside as well.  Their music has been used in campaigns from Volkswagen, Chevrolet, and Orville Redenbacher popcorn.  They have also performed throughout Europe with a showcase at MIDEM in France, New Skool Rules in the Netherlands, and rocked several shows in the UK.

“Where I Go” videoshoot

June 12, 2012

Last week we shot the video to our track “Where I Go”

It was possibly the funnest shoot we’ve ever been a part of…

For several months, we had been wondering what to do for this video… We didn’t want to just do the run of the mill performance video.  We knew we had to keep it fresh!

We took them “Out This World” on our first video so on this one we kept that theme by taking it up in the air…

Download Art of Fresh album for FREE

December 30, 2011

FREE FREE FREE! Now that I’ve got your attention, heres a little something something I KNOW you’ll enjoy! I have a duo I’ve been in for sometime now with long time friend/artist D.O. called The Art of Fresh. It’s a project that was unexpectedly birthed when we started collaborating on tracks back in 2000 (Long before Black Eyed Peas and all the uptempo hiphop/R&B you hear today btw) and just having fun. We were never thinking about “The Industry” or music trends when making this fun uptempo style of music. Our first single was a song called “Get Free”, followed by our second single “Out This World” from our first album “Back to the Earth“. We just recently finished our second album which is called “When the NIght Comes In” and we are happy to inform you that is available for free download! The cool thing about the creation of this album is each song was made in a different part of the world seeing I would bring my equipment with us when we were touring. I can clearly remember making the beat for “Where I Go” as we were driving through Radium Springs in Western Canada in the beautiful Rockies. I remember making the beat for “Alive” in a hotel room in London, England. And probably the most memorable of em all is recording vocals to “Baila” in a crazy beautiful hotel in Kyoto, Japan. (They had a nicely folded, crisply ironed set of PJ’s on your bed awaiting you as you entered, LOL! classy). So I hope you enjoy this album, please share it with anyone you think may like it too.
